BACKGROUND

Impax is a pioneering AIM-quoted fund management company solely focused on environmental markets. It offers a range of strategies and investment vehicles. We began working for Impax in 2005 when it was a unique but small company. It required a comprehensive communications campaign to build its profile, encourage inflows into existing funds and promote the launch of new products.

CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW

Prior to developing and implementing the campaign, we conducted background research and analysis. This determined Impax’s strengths and weaknesses when communicating with the media and uncovered the opportunities and potential concerns within its target investor groups.

Workshops were held with Impax spokespeople to develop a news calendar and generate compelling content which was then tailored and fed to media contacts. News items and content themes were also placed in context with local and global environmental issues, or policy announcements, to maximise interest. Media exposure was also optimised through media lunches and speaking opportunities. Several LEIF conferences were developed around Impax’s areas of expertise which enabled them to showcase their investment opportunities and investee companies to a targeted audience of investors and journalists.

  • Media relations that firmly positioned Impax as the leading voice of UK environmental investment management
  • Two-way communication with journalists facilitated and maintained – Impax spokespeople are now regularly sought for comment on a variety of water, waste, green energy and green policy issues
