HydroChile, a Chile-focused Australian hydropower development company, sought our advice on which investors to approach in London. We worked with HydroChile’s Australia-based advisor Independent Capital Partners, to secure term sheets initially from two London-based investment companies, one of which became the lead investor in a $20m investment round. Further term sheets were secured from two new investors in the subsequent 2010 and 2011 investment rounds. The company has now secured sufficient equity and debt to develop its first hydropower projects which are expected to produce power in 2012.
